MIFSL Rules

MIFSL Overview
You will be the manager of a MIFSL team and choose a group of MISL players to be on your team within the MIFSL salary cap limitations. Each week of the MISL season, the players on your MIFSL team earn points based on their performance during team matches of that week. Each week you may make transfers to maximize your MIFSL teams points. Each person may only register one team. Managers must provide a valid email address or their team may be removed without warning. The maximum number of characters for a username or password is 15. The program will cut off all names or passwords longer than that.

MIFSL Team Rosters
Each team roster will consist of 6 players (1GK, 2 Defenders, 2 Midfielders, and 1 Forward). The following restriction applies. No team may have two of the same player on their roster and all players will play the position designated on the team roster per the MISL website, regardless of whether the player plays another position during a game. A player who plays as a sixth attacker will not get goalkeeper statisics for saves.

Salary Cap
Salaries will not change during the course of the MIFSL season. Player salaries range from 5 to 20 points and is a best estimate of the player value. Each MIFSL team will start with 80 points to spend. The total salary is computed by adding the salaries of all 6 players.

Roster Moves
Each team will be allowed to make a total of 8 transfers per team. You may buy more transfers. Transfers will cost $3 for an extra 5 transfers to be added to your total left. Transfers will count against your salary cap limit. You will not be allowed to make a transfer if that transfer will take you over the salary cap of 80 total points. The season is slated to start November 14. You will have unlimited transfers until the 13th of November. There are no transfer fees to make a move. Team Managers are responsible for their own rosters. MIFSL will not remove any player that has been waived, they will be added to the team name "NO TEAM". It is up to the Team Manager to use a transfer. If the Team Manager has used all transfers, no transfers will be allocated to transfer the player. Players on NO TEAM will get 0 points for the week. A player's score will be for the week, if the player plays in more than one game for the week the points will be cumulative. A week will be from Monday to Sunday.

For ease of game administration Transfers are only allowed Mondays after 11:00PM ET, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays*. All transfers are final, they cannot be reveresed except by using another transfer, which will count against your 8 total transfers for the season.

* Players participating in games occuring on days other than Friday, Saturday or Sunday will not be allowed to be transferred until after the games for the week have been played (i.e. Philadelphia has a school day game on a Wednesday, players from the Kixx and their opponents will not be allowed to be transferred until the following Monday night). A warning will be placed on the website on the Monday prior to the game.

MIFSL Scoring
Your team accumulates points based on the players performance for the week. Once a player has earned points for your team those points remain regardless of whether that player is transferred at a later time.

The scoring is as follows:

  • All Goals are worth 1 point
  • All Assists are worth 1 point
  • Goalkeeper wins are 1 point
  • Goalkeeper shutouts are 2 points per half. If a goalkeeper does not get a clean sheet for the half he will not garner the two points.
  • Any player who gets 4 or more blocks in a game will get 2 points.
  • Blue cards are -2 points per infraction
  • Red cards/ejections are -4 points
  • Misconducts/Yellow cards are -3 points for the player the misconduct is against.

All scores will come from the MISL official press release and website that occurs on the Monday following all games. Scores will be updated by the Monday evening following the games if possible. MIFSL will make every effort to double check all scoring and correct errors. All error correction is at the discretion of MIFSL. If you feel there is a scoring error then you may e-mail MIFSL at mifsl@hotmail.com
